Kelsey and Theo's story is unfortunately not unfamiliar to rescue groups. Their owners were divorcing and Kelsey and Theo were not receiving the attention they deserved. They ran away several times looking for adventure and finally their owners made the wise decision to call Westie Rescue.

Ned and Catherine contacted us shortly after they lost their 13-year- old Westie, Jake. They,and their 4-year-old Westie, Fenway, were really missing Jake and needed a buddy.

Not long afterward, a floppy-eared Westie named Buddy joined our program. Buddy had been raised with another dog and was looking for a family with a dog playmate. We introduced the boys and it was a perfect match. They recently moved to the Northwest and we received this email update.

Clancy (adopted October 27, 2011) was originally purchased as a puppy from a pet store in Colorado Springs by a family with young children.  He was relinquished to WRN before his first birthday because he was being abused by the children.

Four-year-old Bravo was relinquished by his family to a Denver shelter because he was blinded by congenital cataracts and they found him to be too much of a burden. Although the shelter tried to find him a forever home, the behaviors he had developed to manage his blindness, proved to be an obstacle.

Tilly, a 1-1/2 year old Westie, was found lost and scared in the Denver area. Badly matted and in desperate need of a bath she was transformed into a beautiful little Westie whose personality shone within 24 hours of being taken in by Westie Rescue Network.

When Terry first saw 8-year-old Kolby's picture on the Westie Rescue website, it was love at first sight for her. Beautiful little Kolby had been relinquished to Westie Rescue because his owner no longer wanted him. Kolby had lost his sight due to cataracts he developed as a result of being diabetic.

You might remember 9 year old Petey from a past newsletter. In his previous home a botched surgery left him with an eye that didn't close properly, a condition that caused dryness, made him uncomfortable and would only have worsened. After corrective surgery, Petey was adopted and into a home with Daisy another WRN alumni. Here is the latest from his forever home.
